Our happy hour for preservationists is currently on a temporary hiatus, but stay tuned for meet-ups in 2024 and beyond!

PoP on the Rocks is a casual happy hour and an opportunity to tour a historic building.

Registration is free, with a suggested donation of $25.

Donations support PoP's Learning Labs.*
PoP's Learning Labs are demonstrating the role of cultural heritage in climate action by incorporating material reuse and carbon neutrality into the preservation process.

May 2021

Power of Preservation hosted a special PoP on the Rocks in celebration of Preservation Month. We celebrated on May 20th with an in-person happy hour at the historic Cool Crest Miniature Golf Course and their newly-opened Metzger Beer Garden.

Cool Crest is a favorite gathering spot for PoP during Preservation Month and this year was no exception! Opened in 1929, Cool Crest is one of the oldest, continuously operated miniature golf courses in the world. Check out the photos below taken by David Smith!

April 2021

In April, we toured a mid century home built by San Antonio developer Cliff Morton for his mother in 1969, and helped raise funds for the Winter Storm Uri Community Relief Fund!

February 2021

In February, we toured the Kelso House Learning Lab! This home, designed by Atlee B. Ayres and built in 1906 for Judge Winchester Kelso’s family, is the site of PoP's first Learning Lab, a partnership with local colleges and universities and the Office of Historic Preservation that provides hands on training for students and community members.

December 2020

We missed you! Our first virtual PoP on the Rocks took a behind-the-scenes look at the House on Guenther, a beautiful, recently renovated Queen Anne home located on the San Antonio River in the King William Historic District. Technical difficulties prevented us from recording this first edition, apologies to those who missed the tour!
